Real-Time Haul & Load Management System
Real-time monitoring for open-pit mines: equipment location, production, alarms, and predictive maintenance.
The Challenge
Companies operating open-pit mines face the following challenges:
- Acquiring real-time information on the tons of ore and waste hauled.
- Preventing dangerous situations (speeding, misuse of trucks, location of other equipment in blind spots).
- Controlling the origin and destination of haul trips.
- Estimating TKPH.
- Early fault detection.
The Solution
Specialized electronic equipment is installed on trucks, loaders, and other machinery, and integrated into a radio or WiFi communication network. Real-time processing of all this information provides:
- Real-time location of equipment.
- Remote assignment of destinations to haul equipment.
- Message exchange with the operator.
- Production statistics for operators and equipment.
- Historical production data storage.
- Online access to equipment and operator data.
- Real-time equipment self-diagnostics: pressure, flow, temperature, voltage, amperage.
- Immediate alarm detection.
- Recording of equipment movement throughout the full shift, so it can be replayed at any time.
Benefits
- Reassignment of equipment in operation.
- Supervision and control of equipment operator performance.
- Floor control at loaders with differential GPS (RTK).
- Timely information on equipment performance.
- Access to historical statistics on screen and in reports.
- Contributes to predictive maintenance.
- Extends equipment service life.
- Increased safety when operating equipment.
Our own vehicle tracking platform
In addition to integrating specialized third-party equipment, at SCE we design and develop our own vehicle tracking device and web platform in-house, tailored to the conditions of a mining operation.
Real-time tracking
Location and status of every unit on a live map, both inside and outside the mine.
Geofences & access control
Virtual zones that automatically detect each unit's entry and exit, with real-time alerts.
Overspeed control
Speed reports and profiles by unit and zone, key to safety in underground operations.
Shift history & logs
Reconstruction of each unit's route and a session log per shift, with a route map.
Remote updates
Device firmware is updated remotely, with no need to remove the equipment.
Reports & Power BI
Automatic email reports and a direct Power BI connection for advanced operational analysis.
Inklinator: precision drilling inclinometers
SCE is the authorized distributor in Mexico of Transtronic AB, a Swedish manufacturer with more than 50 years of experience in inclination and alignment instruments. The Inklinator line measures drilling angle, depth, and penetration rate in real time, helping improve drilling and blasting accuracy in both open-pit and underground mines.
Real-time drilling angle
Measures borehole inclination with a ±60° range and high accuracy, verifying that every hole follows the planned direction.
Depth & penetration rate
Records drilled length and advance speed, a key data point for drilling quality control.
Better blasting quality
More precise drilling translates into more efficient blast patterns and less ore dilution.
Fits different rigs
Modular systems for bench, production, and boom-less drilling rigs, both on surface and underground.
Built for demanding conditions
IP65 protection rating and -20°C to 50°C operation, built for a mine environment.
Distribution, support & parts
SCE provides technical support and local spare parts as Transtronic's authorized distributor in Mexico.
